Nurturing first time and long time ballet students in a warm environment with clear instruction, good discipline, and age apppropriate opportunities to perform through each school year under the tutelage of Carla Turner
Carla began dancing at the age of 2 at her "big sister's" ballet studio in Cape Town, her other teachers in Cape Town include Miss Victoria Hadland and Ms Anne Broder. In 1990 at
12years of age she won a Gold diploma at the Cape Town Eisteddford. In 1991 her family relocated to Johannesburg and she began learning with Ms Yvonne Adkins in Florida, thereafter she was blessed to learn with Paula Fick and finally Lorna Greeff. After completing her ballet vocational exams unter the tutelage of Ms Anneliese Venter, she began teaching in 1997 at the Lorna Greeff Dance Academy and after 3 years there, in 1999 completed her Cecchetti Assosiate with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and thereafter, in 2000 the beginnings of Dance Inc began. In 2004 Ms Gail Myburgh inspired her to do a further exam which provided an internationally recognised ISTD qualification. In 2010 she took up a post at St Ursulas School, where each little girl from Pre-school to Grade 3 enjoys ballet. "I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed my teenage years because of the enjoyment and also therapy that dance is! The benefits of ballet are far-reaching and provided me with life skills, such a discipline, dedication, commitment, defining and acheiving goals and team work. I obviously had no trouble deciding that this was something I wanted to do everyday! I feel so honoured and blessed to continue to share my ballet passion with tiny tots and seasoned ballet students."
