Recording traditional Mali repertoire of the kamale ngoni (calabash harp) with Jake Sams yesterday.

I used a matched pair of AKG 451 E in a 90⁰ array for stereo detail on the neck and resonator and a Tul 47 at 1m to fill the centre. The result was beautifully atmospheric. Jake dubbed vocals and his partner Grace sang back up. The piece is titled Bani Le.
