Karoo Winter Wool Festival is thrilled to announce a brand new addition to the Karoo Winter Wool Festival line-up — GOOD NEWS KAROO!

Life moves fast, and it’s easy to miss the good happening right around us. In the Karoo, you don’t have to look far. Here, good stories are everywhere: people doing meaningful work, communities lifting each other up, and individuals whose journeys inspire hope and possibility.

That’s what GOOD NEWS KAROO is all about — finding the good and drawing inspiration from the people of our region.

On the programme:
- Dr Johan van Rooyen opens with the story of the Molteno and Sterkstroom emerging farmers project, and how these communities are proving that “the tragedy of the commons” doesn’t have to be the end of the story.
- Professor Bruce Rubidge takes us back in time with the exciting work happening at the Karoo Origins Fossil Museum in Graaff-Reinet.
- A panel of inspiring Karoo women share their own good news stories and talk about what makes the Karoo woman resilient, resourceful, and truly unique.

Expect local flavour, real stories, and conversations that will leave you encouraged.

Ons is verheug om ’n nuwe toevoeging tot die Karoo Winter Wol Fees se program aan te kondig — GOOD NEWS KAROO!

Met soveel wat in ons daaglikse lewens gebeur, vergeet ons dikwels om te stop en te kyk na die goeie om ons — die stories wat hoop, verbinding en moontlikheid inspireer. In die Karoo hoef ons nie ver te soek nie. Goeie stories omring ons: mense wat betekenisvolle werk doen, gemeenskappe wat mekaar ondersteun, en inspirerende individue wie se reise ons opbeur en aanmoedig.

Dis waaroor hierdie sprekerprogram gaan — die goeie vind en inspirasie put uit die mense om ons.

Op die program:

It does not show the colours nor the depth nor the time taken to make this two ply, nor the love and passion with which the fibre was prepared and dyed. It doesn’t show it gliding through my fingers, a twist echoing time, the yarn slowly emerging.
