"DA Throws Down The Gauntlet | 48-Hour Ultimatum For Ramaphosa!"




South Africa - South Africa’s political stage is on fire as DA Leader John Steenhuisen issued a 48-hour ultimatum to President Cyril Ramaphosa following the sudden sacking of Andrew Whitfield, the DA’s Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition.

Steenhuisen blasted Ramaphosa for acting unilaterally and claimed the excuse for Whitfield’s dismissal — a supposed travel permission issue — doesn’t hold water. Documents show Whitfield did request permission months ago, yet the Presidency never responded.

The DA alleges this is nothing more than a calculated political hit on the second-largest party in the coalition, calling out the glaring double standards:

* Thembi Simelane keeps her Cabinet seat despite VBS scandal links.
* Nobuhle Nkabane stays despite misleading Parliament.
*David Mahlobo, fingered in state capture, remains untouched.

Meanwhile, Whitfield, who was reportedly fighting dodgy appointments and corruption in his department, gets the boot for trivial reasons.

Steenhuisen warned: if Ramaphosa fails to fire ANC Ministers and Deputies implicated in corruption within 48 hours, the consequences will squarely fall on the ANC’s shoulders.

Yet, in a powerful closing statement, the DA vowed to still vote in favor of the Division of Revenue Amendment Bill (DORA) — proving, they said, that they put South Africa first, not petty politics.

This showdown marks a crucial moment for the future of South Africa’s unity government.

Is the DA the only party left willing to fight corruption head-on?
