This past weekend was a great experience to a community of Richmond(NC) where kids got to experience dance performance, art galleries, music performances, it has became clear that Arts changes lives, and through Arts we can achieve more, we hope to visit again soon with more activities to offer🎭🎭🎭🎨🎨🎨

DANCE PAGES 2025 Kanvas Call Out.

Dance Pages in collaboration with KANVAS PhD invite interested community members, artists, students, and academics to submit creative works inspired by the research on Contested Spaces: Museum, Memory, and Mental Health.

We welcome submissions across various creative mediums, including:

Performing Arts: Dance, poetry, drama/theatre, and music.

Visual Arts : Painting, drawing, or mixed media.

Written works: Essay.

Submissions should be creative responses based on your personal experience or your reading. A research summary is available upon request via email.

Submission guidelines

Individual submissions are welcome, but we strongly encourage collaborative and group works. Ideally, these collaborations should involve at least one artist, one community member, and one academic (student, lecturer/educator).

There is no strict limit on length or duration, provided the work can be submitted electronically. For large files, please use platforms like Google Drive, WeTransfer, or similar services.
Important dates

The opening of this call coincides with the beginning of Dance Pages 2025: October 22
The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2025.
Results and further information will be announced early in the new year following a selection process by a panel of international artists and scholars.

On the 11 June 2025, African Arts Agents paid tribute by honoring a life well lived, cherishing the memories of our late Iconic David Thatanelo April at the Northern Cape Theatre.
Throughout his career, he mentored and trained countless artists, both locally and internationally, contributing significantly to the development of cultural, educational, and dance institutions across South Africa.

We as the African Arts Agents, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the April family and to all who were touched by his extraordinary life.
