WHAG would like to thank everyone for attending the opening reception of Ditaba- 80 Albert Street last night 🥳! It was a wonderful evening celebrating the artistic career and life of the veteran Elias Ditaba Sewape. A special thanks to our opening speaker, Dr Nombulelo Shange, for her powerful and poignant speech, enrapturing us all with her fierce and unapologetic spirit and passion. The evening ended with a short walkabout led by Mr Sewape and curator Chepape Makgato, giving the stories behind a few selected artworks in the exhibition.

 

The Ditaba- 80 Albert Street exhibition will be on display until 31 July 2026!

Today the Director of WHAG, Miss Nelly Mkhize, and the Chairperson of WHAG's Council, Dr David Morris, attended the Shareholders Compact Signing Ceremony in Pretoria, on behalf of the WHAG Museum. Also in attendance for the signing was Honourable Gayton McKenzie, Minister of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture.
