WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION DUE TO MAJOR BURST ON 900MM DIAMETER PIPE IN THE VICINITY OF RIVERTON

》Repair work on 900mm Diameter pipe completed. Filling of pipeline set to start earnestly.

》 Water supply to be restored this afternoon of Monday, 25 Dec 2023 at 13h00 to the areas listed yesterday; Club 2000, Platfontein, Phutanang, Soul City, Roodepan and John Daka amongst others.

Contingency Water Supply Measures Still In Place For Kimberley CBD And Suburbia

》Roaming continues. Residents are encouraged to lodge supply enquiries with our Control Room at 053 830 6111 or 053 830 6911

》 Reservoir levels still low at Newton. Pumps will start running once good levels are attained.

》It is anticipated that water supply to Kimberley and surrounding areas (suburbia) willl be restored at 19h00.

》 In permitting for levels to rise at Newton, larger parts of Galeshewe and Roodepan that have been receiving supply will be temporarily stopped from 12h00.

Water Supply Interruption Programme

The Municipality is set to implement a new water supply programme based on efforts to obtain meaningful storage levels at the Newton Reservoirs .

The Municipality wishes to extend its apologies for this unforeseen and extended water supply interruption. It is with regret that this has had to lessen the joyousness of Christmas.
