What is the movie Munsieville Missteps about?

Munsieville Missteps is a heartfelt drama about Tumisho, a struggling tour guide trying to make ends meet. Desperate to succeed, he sets up a local tour in the township of Munsieville—using dramatized stories to lure tourists. But when he clashes with Basi, a proud and no-nonsense local who refuses to let her community’s story be twisted, things take an unexpected turn.

Their confrontation becomes a journey of discovery, as both are pulled into the rich, often overlooked history of Munsieville. From stories of struggle during the apartheid era to present-day tensions, the film dives deep into what it means to truly know a place—and yourself.

Caught between jealous exes, long-held secrets, and new bonds, Tumisho and Basi slowly realize they’re not just uncovering history—they’re confronting their own truths, missteps, and purpose.

Munsieville Missteps is about second chances, owning your story, and how the truth—no matter how uncomfortable—can set you free.
