The Victoria Yards urban agriculture project means job creation as well as income generating opportunities. Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables will be grown using ‘Hugel’ raised beds which hold moisture, build fertility, maximize surface volume and yield. Skills Development
The transfer of skills and knowledge means we can empower individuals within the community. As each person grows from apprentice to teacher the setup within Victoria Yards allows them to grow and showcase their abilities and ambitions. Visual Arts
All great societies have roots in the visual arts, with many prominent galleries taking space within the yards, the future for the arts looks bright. Nurturing undiscovered talent with support and places to work, network and exhibit is key to our vision.

This Month, Pulp Paperworks welcomes Nautilus, a minicomic by Johannesburg-based q***r artist and zinester Tristan Baia.

Produced as part of their internship at PULP and inspired by indie comics and zines, Nautilus is an accordion fold minicomic which can be read page by page like a regular book, or unfolded to be read in comic strip format! Featuring a mother-of-pearl inspired holographic deboss on the cover, hand-drawn illustrations, and Japanese Suminagashi water marbling along its reverse side, Nautilus plays with the idea of holding onto secrets - and how secrets hold on to you.

Join us at the Pulp Studio at Victoria Yards from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday the 30th of May as we celebrate the launch of Nautilus with a special Suminagashi water marbling workshop! Entrance is free, but paper and ink are limited, so come through to the studio to grab a copy of Nautilus and a chance to make your own water marbled print.

Perfect for beginners, this hands-on class will teach you the basic techniques and stitches of punch needling using an Ultra-punch needle, thinner yarn, and wool.

What’s included:
Fabric, wooden hoop, use of yarn/cottons, plus access to scissors and all essentials.
Date: 7 June
Time: 1:00am / 11:30am
Cost: R480 per person

Step into a space where creativity and calm meet.
Join us at Victoria Yards for a full-day guided workshop on karving techniques, layer awareness, and creative improvisation using the Karving Kanvas – a tactile, multi-coloured art medium that lets you reveal beauty through depth.
