TJ's Acoustic Music Club - established 1991

TJ's Acoustic Music Club - established 1991 TJ's Acoustic Music Club is a venue and meeting place for musicians playing traditional or contemporary acoustic music. There are about 30 shows per year.

TJ's was established in January 1991 under the chairmanship of Chris Smith. The club met at TJ's Restaurant in Kotze St, Braamfontein - hence the name. Over the years the club has convened at various venues in and around Johannesburg, including the San Souci hotel, the Chamboury hotel, The Randburg Country Club and eventually at the Marks Park club where it still meets today. Usually on the first, third and last Thursdays of the month, with the last Thursday being an open mic night.
