Whether you want to break into the burlesque business or you just want to challenge yourself with an unforgettable experience, the Tournament of Tease is your chance to shine! The Tournament of Tease is now a yearly competition run by Vintage Nouveau Burlesque and Sapphire Supreme, to take the legacy that Miss Oh! built and continue growing the art of the tease and body positivity throughout SA. We are offering 13 contestants the opportunity to perform a burlesque solo in front of a live audience. It's a great way to give burlesque a try – and many current members of the Jhb Burlesque community got their start this way! Where it all started, a glitter filled history:
The Tournament of Tease was fashioned to a London monthly night of the same name, which a then new-to-burlesque-Miss Oh! performed in, in 2009. "It was a beautiful & inspiring evening, where I was lucky enough to share the stage with strong, independent, creative women- who now inspire others in the tight knit Burlesque scene around the world. I would not be a burlesque performer today, if I didn't participate in such a fantastic event!"
