Reflecting on UMCIMBI (Social Cultural Gathering) — a powerful solo exhibition by Lonwabo Mzamo, presented at the FADA Gallery this October.

Through painting, mixed media, and installation, Mzamo invited audiences into a contemplative space exploring masculinity, ritual, and identity within isiXhosa cultural traditions. His work reimagined knowledge systems as fluid and evolving. Holding memory, heritage, and transformation in dialogue.

A memorable showing that centred community and reflection through art.

Looking back on Ko Lorha (To Dream) — an evocative solo exhibition by Leonardo Sitoe, held at the FADA Gallery as part of the 2025 Masters Exhibitions.

Sitoe’s work, rooted in Afro-Surrealism, explored dreaming as both metaphor and method, a meeting point of memory, history, and the diasporic experience. Working primarily with wood, he transformed material memory into poetic acts of reclamation and renewal.

A beautifully realised body of work that continues to resonate beyond the gallery walls.
