Thapelo Modiela (also known as “SPeeKa”) is a music producer, voice-over artist and videographer born and raised in Soweto (born in Diepkloof, raised in Protea Glen). He began producing in 2005, while in the 11th Grade in High School after his father bought him his first Desktop Computer.

His production work was featured on popular YFM Hip-Hop radio show “The Full Clip” (2010 - 2014) (hosted by Sizwe Dhlomo & Siyabonga "Scoop" Ngwekazi) where guest rappers (such as Maraza, Shugasmakx, Reason, Kwesta, Siya Shezi, and a lot more) freestyled over his beats.
SPeeKa directs and edits music videos, some of which can be found on his YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/mrspeeka89) along with his cypher series "Sotra Cyphers” and other South African Hip-Hop related videos.

SPeeKa also presents “Kasi Rap Records”, a music series dedicated to Kasi Rap that airs every Sunday at 1:30pm on GauTV (DStv channel 265). The series incorporates “Sotra Cyphers”.

Production credits: Bantu Speaking, Big Zulu, Siya Shezi, GP Gangsta, Chaka Dolla, F-Eezy, Chippa M, Infektist, SoniQ, Froz, MaseVen, Soweto Tshepiso, Loux Artiste, Mreja and more.
