What exactly is a light engine? And why does it matter?

If you’ve been hearing more about the NANLUX Nebula B4 and C8 Light Engines, we’ve put together a simple guide to explain what’s happening inside these fixtures.
From the high-output white light of the Nebula B4 to the eight-colour flexibility of the Nebula C8, we break down how they work, what makes them different, and which type of lighting application each is suited to.

No complicated jargon. Just the important stuff.

NEW FROM NANLITE âš¡

Meet the new FC-1200B Bi-Color and FC-1200C Full-Color LED Spotlights — two powerful 1350W fixtures built to bring serious output and versatility to professional lighting setups.

The FC-1200B delivers a 2,700K–6,500K CCT range, while the FC-1200C takes full-colour control from 2,400K–12,000K with RGBW, HSI, Gel and Effect modes.

Both feature a Bowens mount, multiple control options and a built-in yoke designed for flexible positioning.

FC-1200B or FC-1200C: which one would you choose?

Starting with a completely dark studio, Sifiso builds the look from the ground up using the Nanlux Evoke 5C, Nanlite PavoTube and Nanlite 60C with a softbox. 🎬

What stands out? Just how much light the Evoke 5C can deliver for its size.

We love seeing new creatives putting their skills, and our gear, to work on real shoots, and seeing how different fixtures can be combined to create the look they want.

Thanks to Sifiso for sharing this one with us! 🙌

Okay… why is this little thing SO bright?! The Nanlite Miro 30C is tiny. Then you turn it on.
And suddenly you're questioning whether someone accidentally put a much bigger light in the box.

It's bright, it's full colour and it's really easy to play around with.
White light? Easy.
Blue, pink, green, orange… whatever you're after? Also easy.
And that's exactly why I think it makes sense for creators.

You don't need a complicated lighting setup to start experimenting with it.
Use it as your main light.
Use it to add colour to the background.
Use it as an accent.
Put it somewhere weird and see what happens.

For TikTokers, influencers, content creators, beginners and small teams, it's a fun little light that gives you a lot of options without making you work too hard for them.

Small light. Big personality.
