Art Matters is owned by Renee Strickland whose love for art started when, at the age of 23, she acquired her first artworks and has since built up an extensive art collection. As a gallery owner in Cape Town for many years (1993-2013) Renee’s career in the art world evolved into her becoming a successful art consultant, not only to art collectors, but focusing on the corporate market. Through her extensive knowledge of art, she was on occasion invited as a guest speaker to give talks on various topics and to open artists’ exhibitions. Over the years, many emerging and previously disadvantaged artists were encouraged and nurtured by her to achieve local and international recognition. Her years of experience and passion for art has culminated in the conception and designing of an Art Appreciation Course for all interested in learning more about art.
