One of my goals from now on is to dive deeply into Gumboots dance. Its profound history in the mines and how it has touched many lives in South Africa has been my source of inspiration. The music from Rishile Gumboots dancers of Soweto, has played a vital role in making us understand the hardships our fathers had to encounter for us to live for another day. Looking at the landscape of unemployment in South Africa, it’s still relatable to being trapped in the mine. My fellow brothers and sisters are trapped in predicaments hoping to live for another day.

My aim with gumboots dance is to see how it can develop and grow from just mine stories and be our everyday inspiration to fight hardships and bring happiness to people.
