Please sign this petition to ICASA regarding upwardly adjusting minimum local content quotas on SA TV and radio! Also please spread the word.

As things stand, current quotas are as low as 25% local content meaning that 75% of revenue leaves our shores and our artists, actors, producers, directors and everybody involved in the value chain are left to die hungry. This cannot be allowed to continue. You can be part of this change.

We are therefore requesting the following adjustments to quotas:

RADIO

- 80% minimum for community sound broadcasting licensees

- 80% minimum for public sound broadcasting licensees

- 70% minimum for private and public commercial sound broadcasting licensees

- 50% minimum for subscription sound broadcasting licensees, and

TV

- 80% minimum for community licensees

- 80% minimum for public sound broadcasting licensees

- 70% minimum for private and public commercial broadcasting licensees,


Submissions deadline at ICASA is 10th Sept 2014. We plan to hand deliver this petition on that day.
