The Soweto Rowing Club Regatta and Launch event 2026:
The Department of Sport and Recreation Region D, in collaboration with the Soweto Rowing Club and Power Park Recreation Centre, successfully hosted the first-ever rowing regatta in Soweto at Orlando Dam. The primary objective of the event was to showcase the sport of rowing while officially welcoming community members and stakeholders to the newly launched boathouse facility.

The results of the races were as follows:

- Junior Men 15 Winner: Mukoki – Soweto Rowing Club
- Junior Men 16 Winner: Mpho Shongwe – Soweto Rowing Club
- Men’s Double Winner: Mamabolo – Soweto Rowing Club
- Masters Men Winner: Wiikins Steven – Old Eds
- Masters Winner: Ravens Schikeling – Ravens Boat Club
- Women’s x4 Winners: Matlapeng, Phela, Nogwaza A, and Nogwaza L – Soweto Rowing Club
- Men’s x2 Winners: Ceruti – VLC
- Masters x4 Winners: Leathwhite, Ceruti, Schwartz, and Kojetin – VLC
- Masters Mixed x4 Winners: Du Toit, Leathwhite, Kojetin, and Bowels – VLC
- Women’s x4 Winners: Mabilo, Moetjie, Mamabolo, and Shonwe – Soweto Rowing Club
