He grew up listening to a variety of music through his taxi driver uncle. His love for music hung with him until his tertiary school days. From being just a music lover without any specific genre MJORA met and befriended a prominent house DJ by the name Killer (late) in 2006 at TUT (Tshwane University of Technology). ear under DJ Killer and Nyekx as his guides to understanding the art of selecting and mixing music. Late in 2006 MJORA became the new kid on the party block and was recognized by a variety of local DJs, clubs and students music movements in and around Tshwane. Since then he never looked back but elevated to greater heights. He draws his inspiration from a variety of music geniuses including the sensational vocalist Omar and producer AtJazz. And his all-time favorite DJ is DJ China. In 2011, MJORA gave birth to a house music movement called The Gentlemen’s Music wherein he releases a series of compilations comprised of mainly soulful, afro and alternative sound. The GM Music is a platform wherein MJORA shares his taste of music with his followers without any commercial benefits. The GM Music is the sound for matured ears and ladies are not omitted at all. Throughout the years the movement has grown phenomenally and has a remarkable fellowship; as it marks the 15th edition in 2015. In growing his brand MJORA has rubbed shoulders with the house music cream of the crop like DJ Christos, Rulf Gum, Tokzen, Shimza, Da Capo and many others. With years of learning and experience he developed his sound as he used a unique approach in his first studio offerings. He collaborated on a hip hop hit single dubbed “Dangerous” featuring his homeboy Mapimpana and the seasoned hip hop artist, Bruno. He has also worked on a house single which defines his doctrine and intuition musically. The two singles mark the introduction a double disc he put together due to release in 2016. The double disc is a package of hip hop and house music on each disc. As for The Gentlemen’s Music movement, the journey is endless and everyone who loves matured sound is welcome to travel with MJORA.
