The Gerard Sekoto Art Class & Holiday Programme invites young people between the ages of 12 and 18 to take part in a meaningful visual arts learning experience at the Johannesburg Art Gallery.

Held annually in honour of renowned South African artist Gerard Sekoto, the programme is designed to introduce participants to the world of visual arts through cultural learning, creative exploration and hands-on artistic practice.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to register young creatives who have an interest in art, history, creativity and self-expression.

Programme details:

📍 Venue: Johannesburg Art Gallery

Phase 1: Art history
⏰ 10h00 – 12h00

Phase 2: Artistic practice
⏰ 13h00 – 16h00

👥 Age group: 12 – 18 years

This programme gives young people an opportunity to learn, create, build confidence and connect with South Africa’s artistic heritage.

Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
