I like to create groups of related pots and I am currently adding to this group where the pots are glazed in shades of straw, corn, cream and terracotta. The black pots give the group definition and also give the glazes something to relate to.

Greg and I were in the art class at KES (King Edward 7th) a very long time ago and for as long as I’ve known him he has been drawing and painting with such passion and commitment. He hasn’t exhibited in his home town for many years and this will be a great opportunity to catch up with Greg and his extraordinarily powerful, vibrant, intriguing and colour-filled paintings. He is an artist who paints for the joy of painting. The exhibition opens tomorrow evening, 7th March. Don’t miss it.

I just opened the kiln I fired at the end of November as we have been away. I am very happy with the way the new straw coloured glazes I have been developing have work out.

A pot glazed in a shino glaze recipe sent to me by great American potter Bill van Gilder. Bill ran Kolonyama pottery in Lesotho around fifty years ago which is how we became friends. A great potter whose you tube videos on making pots are a fabulous way to learn.
