I Left Something on the Table for You begins with a simple gesture, to leave, to offer, to remain.

Curated by Nthabiseng Mofokeng, this exhibition approaches inheritance not as something fixed, but as something in motion, shaped through gesture, image, land, and form. The table holds as a site of ritual, memory, and exchange, where histories are carried, altered, and offered forward.

Featuring Falida Nkomo , Masindi Nafisa Mbolekwa .nafisa , Swaline Mkhonto , Silindokuhle Shandu , and Njabulo Hlophe .ab.ul.oh , the exhibition brings together painting, printmaking, collage, and oil pastel, each holding trace, fragment, and presence.

What is left on the table does not settle. It gathers, shifts, and remains in circulation, shaped by those who arrive, and those who leave something of themselves behind.

Highlighting South African artist Vusi Beauchamp who creates bold, high-energy works that pulse with colour, symbolism, and layered meaning. His practice draws from street culture, spirituality, and everyday urban life, blending figuration and abstraction into compositions that feel both raw and intentional.

Beauchamp’s work often explores identity, masculinity, and resilience, presenting his subjects with a sense of power and presence while revealing underlying vulnerability. Through dynamic mark-making and vibrant palettes, he captures the rhythm of contemporary African life, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and engage with the emotional and cultural narratives embedded within.

Artist Spotlight | Marcel Tchopwe

Cameroonian artist Marcel Tchopwe is known for his psychologically charged portraits that examine youth, aspiration, and socio-economic reality. Originally studying geoscience before pursuing fine art, Tchopwe brings a deeply analytical yet empathetic lens to his work, focusing on the tension between education and opportunity in contemporary African society.

In Docteur de call-box (2021), he portrays a Doctor working at a street call-box; a powerful metaphor for the reality faced by many highly educated individuals who are unable to find employment in their chosen fields. The work speaks to unrealized dreams, systemic under-employment, and the quiet resilience required to survive despite them.
