We have a few spots left for:
MEETING CLAY: Exploring therapeutic process through making

Clay invites a particular kind of attention. Through touch, rhythm, resistance and form, it offers opportunities to explore experience that may be difficult to access through words alone.

This six-module experiential workshop series explores the therapeutic potential of clay through making, reflection and discussion. Participants will be invited to develop a direct relationship with the material while considering how clay can support self-awareness, creativity, meaning-making and therapeutic practice.
Designed for arts therapists, mental health practitioners and anyone interested in the relationship between clay, wellbeing and personal growth, the series combines experiential learning, theoretical reflection and practical hand-building skills.

No previous experience of clay is required.
CPD accredited (3 points per module, 18 points for the full series).

Facilitator: Kate Shand, MA (Art Therapy), HPCSA-registered art therapist (AT 0001880), part-time lecturer (UJ), and co-owner of the Melville Mudroom pottery studio. She brings over a decade of integrative practice - from art therapy with children and teenagers, to community clay projects and clay retreats - grounded in her own clay journey and a deep belief in clay’s therapeutic and transformational potential.
