Amahlubi originally occupied 500 square kilometers of land from from the source of the Mzinyathi river to Ncome river in South east to vryheid in the Ulundi mountains during Bhungane's reign son of Nsele. Amahlubi are an independent nation with it's own kingship and they largely occupied, dundee. Ladysmith, Nkandla and the North of KZN which are their ancestral land. They were never conquered by the zulus and so never pay tribute to the Zulu king. They were the largest nation in the 1300 and are closely related to Swatis, Khizes, parts of xhosa's and king Shaka learned his military skills from Hlubi king
