HILTON HERITAGE FRINGE FEST LOOKS TO THE FUTURE
The organisers of the Hilton Heritage Fringe Fest 2025 have announced that this year’s inaugural event, originally scheduled for 24–28 September at Mendola Luxury Events Venue, will not go ahead.
While this is a difficult decision, the festival’s vision and purpose remain stronger than ever. The Hilton Heritage Fringe Fest was conceived to create a dedicated platform for theatre, music, comedy, and storytelling in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands — celebrating the richness of local talent, fostering community, and connecting artists with audiences in new and exciting ways.
The arts landscape in KZN and South Africa is constantly shifting. Our local artists continue to adapt, thrive, and innovate in spite of these challenges, and the Hilton Heritage Fringe Fest remains committed to standing alongside them. This pause is not an ending, but rather an opportunity to refine, reimagine, and return with something even bigger, brighter, and bolder.
Festival Director Luke Holder notes:
“The heart of this festival has always been about community, creativity, and connection. Those principles have not changed — if anything, they’ve grown even more urgent. We will take this time to strengthen our partnerships, expand our vision, and ensure that when the Hilton Heritage Fringe Festival returns, it does so with greater impact and resilience.”
All ticket holders will be refunded in full via Webtickets, and no action is required on their part.
As we look ahead, we invite audiences, partners, and supporters to watch this space. The Hilton Heritage Fringe Festival remains deeply committed to its founding ethos and will continue to champion opportunities for artists and audiences to come together in celebration of creativity.
