From shows with acclaimed South African stars, to conferences, repairing broken gear for clients, running fashion shows, consulting with the fish (and some people!) at UShaka, performances with the KZNPO, hosting a brilliant training course for newbies in the lighting industry, and even a curtain installation or 2, we are now headed to the Eastern Cape! Last week we ran the MTS Beginner Sound Course.

Participants spent two full days learning how sound actually works — not just the theory, but real systems, real setups, and real troubleshooting scenarios.

Instead of sitting through endless lectures, the course focused on hands-on learning:

• Setting up real PA systems
• Mixing on a live desk
• Diagnosing common sound problems
• Working as a technical team
• Understanding signal flow and microphone technique
