The Musical Theatre Group of Greyton (7 Hats Productions) is very excited to announce that we found a new "home" for our shows and will launch our brand new musical show called "GREYTON UNPLUGGED" on 17th of June!

Where: Moravian Hall (next to the library)
When: Every Saturday @ 19:00
What: A musical show with wonderful stories and songs about Greyton and Greytonians that will mostly make you laugh, but also shed a tear
The set up is informal / barnyard style where you are welcome to bring your own wine and snacks.
Entertainment for visitors and Greytonians to enjoy an evening with friends, stories and music 🎶

As a student she made her debut as the soprano soloist in the Coronation Mass of Mozart. Her operatic debut was as Barbarina in “Le Nozze di Figaro” and Papagena in ”The Magic Flute”, after which she joined the famous “Black Tie Ensemble” .She performed at the Spier Summer Festival and performed the female lead in Vere, the Musical, produced by Deon Opperman. Recently she also ventured into cabaret and discovered the joy of jazz being a member of the “Track 5” vocal group.
Willem teams up with her on piano who is one of SA’s best pianists and has been in the company of world famous / international musici and conductors and perform on a regular basis in Europe as soloist as well as accompanist

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
From all of us in the "7 Hats - A Musical Journey Cabaret" team, we want to thank you for your incredible support we were blessed with through the 10 magical shows we had in Greyton this December, and we want to sincerely wish you and yours a magical, love-filled, prosperous and poetic 20twentytoo.
No matter what each day brings you - whether happy or sad, remember - all it takes for you to be magically transported anywhere you want is a song and a hat.

Today, 30 December marks the final performance of the "7 Hats - A Musical Journey" Cabaret right here in the Abbey Rouge venue in gorgeous Greyton. If you haven't booked your tickets for tonight, we highly recommend you do so soon!

Today also marks the birthday of one of the world's influential blues pioneers, Bo Diddley, born in McComb, Mississippi in 1928.
Bo Diddley made a massive rock n’ roll impact on The Ed Sullivan Show 66 years ago — and was promptly banned for life. What got him booted? The hard-driving track “Bo Diddley”, which spent 18 weeks on the top of the charts, two weeks at #1, and forever and irreversibly introduced the world to the hip shaking Bo Diddley Beat.
Bo pioneered a percussive style of playing the guitar which would go on to inspire modern-day artists like Jon Gomm who approach the instrument from a completely different perspective.
Bo also played at the George Bush presidential inaugural in 1989 and Bill Clinton’s in 1993, making him one of the few artists to play both a Republican and Democrat Inaugural event! Talk about music as force for unity...
And, if anyone ever accuses you of knowing nothing, or of being ignorant by saying "you don't know Diddley", Bo is the reason for the saying which just shows you how much of an influence just one person can have on art, culture and language.
