When gifted with dahlias... of course I'm going to have to draw them! Dahlias also has a very cool meaning - beauty, dignity, kindness and inner strength. It reminds me of the Proverbs 31 woman who is clothed in "strength and dignity" and "she laughs at the time to come." (Prov 31:25) She has such a stunning inner strength and confidence! She is not afraid or anxious about the future, in fact she can laugh and have a light heart! But how does she do it?

God who created the flowers also has ALL her needs taken care of and her life and future safe in His hands. She doesn't have to sit with a heavy or anxious heart and a frowny face. Instead she can cast every care over to God. So she rests in His care, and can now in turn reach out with overflowing kindness to others! Thus is true for the proverbs 31 woman and it is true for you and me as well! 🧡

Inspired by a few Bible verses containing "Let Us"

"Let us draw near to God with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. Let us hold firmly to the hope we profess, for we can trust God to keep his promise." Heb 10:22-24

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith." Heb 12:2

"Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Gen 1:26

There are many other verses containing these words. But today, may you be encouraged to fix your eyes on Jesus as your source, Creator and author of your life.
The One who holds it all together.
He is good and kind and will give you peace in this uncertain world.

Let us - keep our eyes on Him, not on the things that make us fearful or weigh us down.
Let us - come with boldness and confidence to God and receive His help and peace. 💛

"Hover Over"

Hover over is about real potential being nurtured.
In the Genesis account, the Spirit of God hovered over a formless earth at the beginning of creation. The term "hovering over" is similar to brooding, relating to the way an eagle hovers over her young, gently and lovingly encouraging them to open their wings and take possession of the sky.

The painting conveys a sense of gentle encouragement. The phrase "hovering over" can also be interpreted as "brooding over."

A formless earth about to undergo the magnificent creation process, soon to be filled with light, life, and abundance.

The movement of water in the painting communicates liveliness through its life-giving properties, purity, and cleanliness. I chose blue tones to evoke peace and calm, while splashes of vibrant greens and yellows add a sense of abundant life and refreshing newness!
