UPDATE: Deadline for enrolment extended to 15 March 2021.

Tomorrow, 24 February, is the last day for schools to enrol their Grade 10-12 learners in the 2021 Regional Schools' Festival. This year the Festival presents the Future Arts Programme - a digital experience that brings a series of amazing workshops to learners - and then challenges them to make and present a film. It's totally free and schools that don't have digital tools can apply for a 'studio-in-a-box' toolkit.

Our Artistic Director, Rucera Seethal, spoke to 702 's Refiloe Mpakanyane about this exciting initiative, be sure to get your school on board! Click to listen 👉 https://bit.ly/3qPnCZA

The skills learnt in the workshops will assist the teams in making their own film and the results will be shared online. Things you need to know:

- It's free to join.

- Your school will need digital screens and vlogging kits to participate.

- With the support of the National Arts Council and Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, the National Arts Festival has designed a “studio in a box”, that includes a smart TV loaded with video-on-demand workshop content and a vlogging kit to enable participation. The boxes will be loaned out based on the expressed needs of participating school.

- Deadline for getting involved is 24 February - so that's really soon!

- Schools can run the programme from 11 March anytime in March and April.

If you want to get your school involved drop an email to [email protected] and we will send all the forms to sign you up.

This project is possible thanks to the involvement of the National Lotteries Commission 📣
