🎭⛓️‍💥BROKEN SHACKLES 25 Year Anniversary🎭⛓️‍💥

We are grateful to have secured limited funding to support a portion of the next phase of the project.
While this funding does not cover the full scope of what is required, it provides an important opportunity to continue building on the foundation established over the past 25 years and to take the production into its next stage of development.

In 2023, we spent a year working in five communities through our Train the Trainer Project. Together, each community developed and staged its own original musical theatre production. The journey culminated in an unforgettable week of performances at an established theatre in Cape Town, where all five productions came together to celebrate the talent, creativity, and stories of their communities.
On 16 June, Youth Day, the Parkwood leaders continued that legacy by screening the video of their 2023 stage production for the wider community. Once again, the production inspired and challenged a new generation—reflecting on the lessons of the past, exploring God's original design for His people, and pointing towards hope for the future.
It's a reminder that powerful stories don't end when the curtain falls—they continue to transform lives wherever they are shared.

✨GOETHE INSTITUT ENTANGLEMENT WORKSHOP:✨

It was a privilege to gather in Johannesburg to be part of the Entanglement Workshops Series in South Africa — a week of deep connection, reflection, and exchange with cultural practitioners, heritage stakeholders, and organisations from across the region.

Spending time with partners from the mountains of Lesotho to the shores of the Western Cape, from the Lowveld of Limpopo to the dunes of the Kalahari, we were united by a shared passion for preserving the heritage of our people.

The week closed with a beautiful evening of connection and exchange, reminding us of the power of gathering, dialogue, and collaboration across borders.

📣GOETHE INSTITUT ANNOUNCEMENT:📣

Where Heritage Meets Storytelling — A New Partnership Begins

It is with great excitement that we announce our partnership with our funders, the European Union, implemented by the Goethe-Institut under the Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture: Southern Africa Component.
We are one of eight non-profit organisations selected for the next 18 months to deliver projects that highlight meaningful dialogue and collaboration between African and European cultural artists.
This initiative fosters peer learning, exchange, co-creation, and mutual understanding, all of which our programmes in arts for social change, culture, and community development will form part of.

Follow our journey and keep an eye out for our upcoming content and activities, both online and in person.

🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦

We remember the cost of our freedom
and honour those who gave everything.

May we walk for those who no longer can,
and speak for those still silenced — within and beyond.

Let us keep telling these stories,
for the seeds of sacrifice now bear fruit in hope.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us…”
— Romans 8:18–25 —
