Cape Town Synchronised Ice Skating

Cape Town Synchronised Ice Skating Synchronized skating is a discipline of figure skating. These teams are based in Cape Town and train at the Ice Station in Goodwood.

Synchronized ice skating is the newest of the Figure Skating disciplines and involves teams of 16 skaters and up to 4 alternates performing a variety of footwork, group formations and skating manoeuvres. They are judged on technical and artistic ability, including the speed and unison with which they skate; the difficulty and accuracy of the formations; synchronization of heads, legs, arms and bod

ies. They must execute a well-balanced program with a variety of circles, lines, blocks, wheels and intersections. The team who have represented Western Province - Crystal Stars Novice, previously Team Silhouette (Novice), Team Rainbow (Juniors) and Team Sunthings (Seniors). All teams hold the National title in their section as they placed first in their respective sections at the SA National Figure Skating Championships.
