When wood dries, the moisture inside evaporates. If the drying process is uneven or too rapid, the tension within the wood increases, and it can no longer hold together. This results in the wood cracking or splitting, often starting from the center where the tension is greatest and spreading outward in a starburst pattern. The cracks are like the wood's way of releasing built-up stress from the drying process.
Just as the wood cracks open in a starburst pattern when it dries and releases internal tension, our lives sometimes face seasons of dryness and challenge. These moments, although painful, can be opportunities for growth and transformation. When we go through trials and stress, we may feel like we're splitting apart, but God is there to guide us through these cracks. Like the star-shaped splits in the wood, our struggles can lead to new beginnings, shining light from within as we emerge stronger and more resilient.
In God's hands, even our brokenness and dryness become part of His divine design—creating beauty, purpose, and a shining star of hope that points us toward His love and grace.
