The Sinothando Choir is thrilled to announce our upcoming trip to Northwest in November! As many of you know, we work with talented school-aged children who are passionate about music and performance. To make this trip a reality, we are running a fundraising campaign to ensure that all our members can participate and represent Franschhoek with pride.

Franschhoek Sinothando Choir: This local choir is based in Langrug and was formed on August 20, 2008. The choir consists of approximately 55 members who rehearse from Monday to Friday. Franschhoek Sinothando Choir has proudly represented the village at various locations across the Western Cape, Northern Cape, and Eastern Cape.

The local Franschhoek businesses have been incredibly supportive of the choir. They regularly book the choir to entertain their guests, which we deeply appreciate. Our choir primarily works with young people from diverse backgrounds.

Every Saturday, you can find us near the Standard Bank, engaged in fundraising activities. These donations help us purchase uniforms and cover transport expenses. Currently, we are actively fundraising for transportation. Our goal is to transport all 55 members to the Buyelekhaya Music Competition in the North West, where we have been invited to represent our village. The competition is scheduled for November 2024.

Transport service providers have generously offered a substantial discount, charging only R1000 per member. With this support, we aim to raise up to 20,000 Rands for the choir, as outlined in our schedule.

Franschhoekers, we kindly invite you to consider booking us for any special occasions in Franschhoek. Your small donations would be greatly appreciated. We offer music, dance, poetry, and djembe drumming. Our ultimate aim is to keep these young people engaged, away from drugs and crime.
