🇿🇦 FROM LIMPOPO TO THE WORLD: NDLOVU YOUTH CHOIR SHARES THE STAGE WITH QUEEN LEGENDS! 🎶

Who would have imagined that a South African choir’s isiZulu interpretation of Bohemian Rhapsody would lead to a musical collaboration with the very artists who helped make the song legendary?

The Ndlovu Youth Choir, from Limpopo, has taken another remarkable step on its international musical journey.

Their distinctive interpretation of Queen’s classic caught the attention of legendary drummer Roger Taylor, opening the door to a collaboration that saw the choir feature on three tracks from his latest solo album, Violence Insane in a Beautiful World.

But the story didn’t end in the recording studio.

On 28 September 2026, the choir performed alongside Taylor at London’s iconic Roundhouse. In an unforgettable moment, Queen guitarist Brian May joined them on stage for performances of We Will Rock You and Radio Ga Ga.

From the villages of Limpopo to sharing a stage with international rock legends, the Ndlovu Youth Choir continues to show that African musical talent knows no boundaries.

Their journey is not simply about international recognition. It is about bringing a distinctly South African musical identity to some of the world’s most celebrated compositions.

What does the Ndlovu Youth Choir’s international success mean to you as a South African music lover?

🌎 CAN YOU TELL WHEN A SONG IS MADE BY AI? YOUTUBE’S DISCLOSURE RULES PUT TRANSPARENCY IN THE SPOTLIGHT

For generations, music fans have connected with the voices, emotions and creativity of their favourite artists. But as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly capable of generating songs, a new question is emerging: who, or what, is behind the music we hear?

YouTube has introduced disclosure requirements for certain realistic AI-generated or significantly altered content, including some forms of synthetic music. The move reflects growing pressure on digital platforms to be more transparent about the role of artificial intelligence in creative works.

Today, AI can generate vocals, melodies and complete musical arrangements. It can also assist human musicians with songwriting, production and experimentation.

This raises an important distinction: there is a difference between an artist using AI as a creative tool and a recording generated primarily by AI.

For listeners, the issue is not simply whether technology was used. It is also about understanding the creative contribution behind a song, respecting artistic identity and making informed choices about the music they support.

As AI-generated music becomes more common, transparency could become increasingly important in the relationship between artists, streaming platforms and audiences.

🎶 Would knowing that a song was created by AI change how you feel about it?

🇿🇦 KABELO MABALANE REMEMBERS MAGESH — A BROTHERHOOD THAT MUSIC KEPT ALIVE ❤️🎶

Some friendships leave behind more than memories. They leave behind music that defines a generation.

As South Africa remembered what would have been Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala’s 50th birthday on 14 October, his longtime friend and TKZee bandmate Kabelo Mabalane honoured him with a new tribute song, “Magesh Is Beethoven.”

Together with Zwai Bala, they gave South Africa unforgettable kwaito classics such as Phalafala, Shibobo and Dlala Mapantsula.

Kabelo also postponed his forthcoming album to allow the occasion to focus on Magesh’s legacy — a touching gesture of friendship and respect.

Magesh may be gone, but the music of TKZee continues to bring back memories of an unforgettable era.

🎶 Which TKZee song takes you straight back to the 1990s?
