Meet The MADCAMP Facilitator:Bongani Ntshingila
Bongani Ntshingila is a Drama and Theatre practitioner. He studied Applied Drama and Theatre and graduated with a degree in the Bachelor of Arts with Honours at Wits University under the Drama For Life programme. He is a founder and a member of Hupenyu Creative Initiatives which was established to uplift the standard of Arts and Crafts in communities. The project has developed many artists from the community who graduated in various professional artistic institutions. He is also an aspiring and promising script writer, director, and performer. Bongani’s artistic productions include “Behind the walls”,”Imbokotho”, “Tsoalo the Birth”, “Stains inner”, and “Through positive eyes “an autobiography of “HIV activists through story telling and installations at Museums to list but a few. Some of these productions premiered Grahamstown National Arts Festival, Macufe, Ishashalazi and have received positive reviews. He also directed an industrial show for Natref’s induction and wellness programme. Bongani has worked as a Facilitator and a field worker in Art in School programme under the Department of Arts and culture and further volunteered to work with learners in schools as an adjudicator and mentor under the Department of Education’s YRAC programme. He is currently directing a Science show theatre piece production titled “The Big brain” in collaboration with McubedH multi media productions, and he is also assisting with Facilitation and mentorship of a MADCAMP for Youth programme under Motswako Art Center. He had previously joined Themba Interactive Initiatives an NGO which focused on Peer Education , HIV and Aids programmes in correctional canters. He has worked as a Trainer/Facilitator and also as an Actor. Bongani is a dedicated Artist who enjoys sports, and interacting with people from different walks of life. His work is inspired by the status quo of politics and social ills affecting affecting the society.
