I come from a long line of migrant workers (within South African boarders) who never knew their place - strived in both gender roles effortlessly. A stance I've learnt to embrace from a very young age, and have carried it throughout my whole adulthood as I navigate through my own life.

Did you that fire is synonymous with new beginnings. Old crops are burnt to give way to new ones.

Within traditional isiZulu culture, bones from a sacrificial animal (cow /or goat) are gathered and burnt after everyone has feasted. Therefore signifying an end to a ceremony.
