THROWBACK THURSDAY // FROM DUSTY FIELDS TO FULL-THROTTLE CHAOS 🤘
Before the strobes. Before the neon skulls. Before the walls of bass rattling venues across Joburg… there was a field, a stage, and a movement.
If you were there - you remember.
“Big Day Out.”
Or as some of you knew it - “Beeg Day Out Music Festival.”
A time when Savage Shows carved its name into the South African alternative scene with all-day festivals that brought together bands, misfits, moshers, and music lovers under one sky. No filters. No pretence. Just raw sound, sunburn, dust, and distortion.
Those early days weren’t just events - they were moments. The kind where strangers became family in the pit. Where local music wasn’t just supported - it was lived.
And if you’ve ever been to one of our more recent nights, you’ll know…
That energy never left.
Because today, Savage Shows is still doing what it’s always done best:
“From mosh pits to dancefloors, we curate brutal line-ups, unforgettable atmospheres, and fierce collabs… If it’s loud, raw, and real - it’s Savage.”
From the chaos of Headbanger’s Bash — described as
“a full-throttle night of metal, punk, hardcore, and alternative chaos… the kind of sonic violence that leaves your neck sore and your soul screaming for more”
- to the new era of immersive, boundary-pushing experiences… this isn’t a comeback.
It’s an EVOLUTION.
Then vs Now?
Different formats. Same heartbeat.
Where “Beeg Day Out” gave you a full day of live bands and sun-soaked rebellion…
Headbanger’s Bash and our new events bring that same spirit into darker rooms, heavier drops, louder systems, and wilder production.
And now… we build again.
🎪 04 JULY 2026: SAVAGE CIRCUS
A new chapter. A new spectacle. Same Savage energy.
👀 01 AUGUST 2026: ???
