Voting lines for the Eastern Cape spotlight awards are officially open.
However there is now a minor change in the voting period. The advertised voting period on nominee posters is from 25 June to 22 August.
The new and final voting period is from today 25 June to 25 July. Voting will now take only 31 days. Which means our voting lines will be closing in the next 30 days.
Furthermore transparency is very crucial for a platform such as ours. Our intention is to see to it that we heavily invest in to the Eastern Cape creative industry.
When someone votes via sms as much as the sms cost is R3 , around 0.98 cents of that money comes to us. Also whenever someone votes online every online vote costs R2 in which we receive R1,50.
With that having been said we are collecting some kind of revenue as the spotlight awards. We are to see to that the a significant amount of what we generate goes back to our nominees through weekly give aways , and in insuring that we deliver a well dignified awards ceremony.
Lastly, the Eastern Cape spotlight awards is not government ran and is not some kind of a government tender. It is privatly ran . Over the last 72 hours we have had certain groups and individuals from the eastern Cape who have been trying to extort money and favours from us . According to them nothing is to be done in the Eastern Cape if they are not directly benefiting .
However as ECSA we will not be deterred .
