I am writing to inform you that it has been a considerable amount of time since my last post on my business page, and unfortunately, I had to cease operations at my shop. The load shedding in South Africa two years ago presented significant challenges in creating jewelry without the use of my kiln. As a result, it was impossible to maintain a glass jewelry shop with the diverse range of accessories we sold. We decided to sell our home in Dullstroom and purchase a farm that is entirely self-sufficient, relying on solar power. While I deeply miss working with glass, the closure of my shop has been a source of great sadness. Nevertheless, I am thankful for the opportunities to have met incredible people and loyal customers. I appreciate your unwavering support, and I am reluctant to deactivate my business page as it continues to bring me tremendous joy.

Hi Guys, I have realized that fake glass work beads are being sold in Dullstroom which are not made by lampwork artists but by mass producing companies overseas. Please look at the work you are buying....none of our work will ever look the same. We are greatly offended by this...we work and study glass for years on years. Seeing one piece sell for R5 is disgusting to us and the flamework community. I just had to tell you because we at Van Sand take great pride in our work!
