HEALTH MEC DR PHOPHI RAMATHUBA TO LEAD A TEAM OF MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS TO PERFORM 500 MEDICAL MALE CIRCUMSCISION AT THABALESHOBA HEALTHCARE CENTRE
Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will lead a team of health practitioners to Thabaleshoba Health center in the Waterberg District Mogalakwena municipality to perform voluntary medical male circumcision procedures.The target within the cluster is 500 procedures.
The Department has identified hospitals, clinics and primary health care centre's around the province to cater for those who will require medical male circumcision services. Medical Male circumcision reduces heterosexual male vulnerability to HIV infection by approximately 60% and it's effects last a lifetime.
"We have dedicated a team of well trained health care professionals in all our heathcare centres to perform these procedures. We encourage parents to bring their boy child to our facilities so that we circumsize them medically", said MEC Ramathuba.
