African farmers moved from the North to the South and went to live in the Limpopo River. They were subsistence farmers they produced and planted for they own families and kept cattle. When time went by they hunted wild elephants for they tusks. They were a well organised society. On top of the hill only the king and his family were allowed to stay there, normal people stayed in the village, golds and beads were only worn by the king and his family(royalty people). The King was the most important person then older people-younger people-Men/women.Only the king was able to speak to the ancestors, during rain rituals sometimes the king spoke or called a royalty Maine.Culture was passed through generation to generation because they could not read nor write. Kings palace was surrounded by brick walls. The hill and the king were holy and the villages couldn't look directly at the king and the hill. The People used stars at night to guide (travelling). Their were two paths up the hill, the ladder and one curled pathway, only certain people used the ladder and if using the curled pathway they had to walk backwards covering their faces. There were Soldiers on top of the hill(eyes of the king) to guard the king .They became traders they traded ivory/gold for things like:glass beads, cloths and pottery. The community became bigger, the king was seen as a Rhino. The King was the only person who carried a sceptre.
