HTS is contracted to Sutherland High, and Ms H is the director of music. We're privileged and honoured to work along side Suthies, in creating an environment that encourages the arts and music! Get to know our band:

​The Sutherland High Performance Band (AstraLux 2026) serves as a vibrant cornerstone of Suthies cultural identity, offering students an expansive stage that stretches far beyond the classroom.

​Throughout the year, our musicians are immersed in a diverse professional landscape, from the competitive rigour of Eisteddfodau to the high-energy spotlights of school musicals, movie nights, awards ceremony performances, and more.

​Our reach extends into the community through traveling performances, including whimsical children's theatre and festive Christmas Carol tours, ensuring our students experience the full breadth of a performer's life.

​Under the guidance of qualified music coach Ms Hynek and the strategic vision of our Head of Culture Ms Meyer, students don't just master an instrument; they engage in a process that significantly enhances cognitive development, fine-tunes social intelligence, and fosters a sense of purpose.

Big Things Coming to HTS in 2026! 🎶✨

​We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, investing in a major transformation of our facilities to better support your musical journey.

​Here’s what’s new in the studio:

​🎧 High-Tech Overhaul: New iMac, professional interfaces, and Adam Audio monitors for top-tier sound quality.

​🎹 Piano Upgrades: A brand-new Roland digital piano for an authentic, premium touch in every lesson.

​🎸 Fresh Performance: All instruments have been serviced and restrung, with acoustic and electric gear ready for use.

​✨ Refreshed Space: New décor, modern lighting, and a cozy waiting area (complete with games!) to make everyone feel at home.

​These updates are all about providing a space where our students can truly thrive. We can’t wait for you to see it!
