Join Pretoria Youth Theatre's Young Directors Course and discover what it takes to bring a production from script to stage. Director's Course (You have to complete this course to do the festival):

Time: 10:30 am – 5:30 pm
Workshop Fee: R1,800
Discounted Workshop Fee: R1,500 when also participating in the Young Directors Festival.

The role of a theatre director
Scriptwriting and story development
Selecting music for a production
The fundamentals of choreography and staging
Working with actors and running rehearsals
Budgeting and production planning
Producing and managing a theatre production
Bringing your creative vision to life

Young Directors Festival
Following the course, participants will have the opportunity to apply to direct and produce their own production as part of the Pretoria Youth Theatre Young Directors Festival in December. This is your chance to put your new skills into practice and see your creative vision come to life on stage.
Whether you dream of directing musicals, plays, or creating original productions, this course is the perfect first step toward your future in theatre.
Young Directors Festival:
Participation is only available to those who have completed the Young Director's Workshop. Your show will be performed twice during this period.
The top show will be taken to the following year to be re-staged.
