Our coach nailed a few things here:

1. The essence of the character.
It is clear from the audition that the essence of the character is present. Perhaps not the same lines but definitely the same vibe. Movements, facial expressions and demeanor of the character was already there during the audition.

2. Timing.
In a role with lines, timing is crucial. Respond too quickly or take too long, it will look and feel unnatural. The audition may be a monologue but the dialogue is natural and perfectly timed to create the required feel. For this role, long pauses created a beautifully balanced comedic encounter.

3. The look of the character.
It is vital to match the description of the character as much as possible. By watching the audition, it is evident that the character is present and identifiable by the hairstyle and minimal makeup. She has shown the casting director that she is the character before even acting.

These are the little things that make a huge difference during selection and they can 100% be taught!🎭
