South Africa Serendipity Music Group
NEW ARTIST: Growing up in Mutare ,Zimbabwe MandaBrat knew that music would play a huge role in his life. From borrowing cassettes and vinyls to play at friends' houses to finally being able to produce his own music ,MandaBrat's musical journey is one of perseverance, tenacity and inspiration . … After relocating to South Africa in 2001 ,MandaBrat fell in love with the booming house scene in that country and he developed a keen interest in the production of house music. It was only in 2013 that he decided to share his dream with the world .His music takes you on a journey of his life. One gets a sense of traversing through a timeline of events that the artist has experienced as he aims to paint a kaleidoscope of his existence. The laid back mid tempo house beats have also a bearing on the everyday life Mandabrat experiences in the Mother city, Cape Town. It paints an idealistic, utopian life that the majority of the working class aim to achieve in a background of social upheavals and economic hardships. The melodies soothes one’s mind as they transport the listener on a head nodding, foot thumping hypnotic trip.
Having embarked on a journey to document his thoughts , Mandabrat consciously opted for the studio instead of written memoirs. His music summarises his dreams and ambitions from humble beginnings in the dusty streets of Dangamvura.
MandaBrat's defining moment as a dj was playing before renowned former number one dj Hardwell at an event hosted to welcome him to Cape Town for the Ultra Music Festival . He has released music independently and through labels such as Drum Records , Something Different Music Group and Our Favourite Mood.
