“Crossing Over” by celebrated South African artist Kate Gottgens was created especially for “Unsteady Realms” at Norval Foundation.

Inspired by “Ukiyo-e” woodblock printing, the edition explores the fleeting rhythm of life and the delicate relationship between people and the natural world. A figure and heron meet in a dreamlike watery oasis, blurring the boundaries between human, animal and landscape.
