What a weekend! It's two weeks since The Simon's Town Festival.

From mountain trails and harbour swims to live music, heritage walks, local food, family adventures and unforgettable moments shared across the town – Simon's Town came alive in the best possible way.

A huge thank you to every participant, visitor, volunteer, venue, performer, activity host, sponsor and local business who helped make this edition a success. Whether you attended one event or many, you were part of something special.

Most importantly, thank you for choosing to spend your weekend in Simon's Town and supporting our local community.

The Simon's Town Festival was created to celebrate the best of our town – its people, natural beauty, maritime heritage, outdoor adventures, local businesses and unique community spirit.

The idea is simple: showcase what already exists and invite people to experience Simon's Town differently. Rather than building a festival around a single venue, we activate the town itself – from the mountains and beaches to the harbour, High Street and public spaces in between.

The festival takes place during a quieter time of year, helping to bring visitors into the town, support local businesses and create opportunities for collaboration across the community.

At its heart, the festival is about place, people and connection. Celebrating Simon's Town as a destination while creating experiences that locals and visitors can enjoy together.

A penguin is popping up on Seaforth Beach 🐧🎨

As part of the Simon’s Town Festival, a brand new mural is coming to life in front of Seaforth Restaurant on Saturday 16 May. Popping Up Penguin Live is part of the city-wide Popping Up Penguins project, where African Penguins are ‘swimming’ across walls from Boulders to the CBD to draw attention to the near extinction facing our African Penguin population.

This is the fourth penguin to appear — painted live on the day by lead artists CareCreative & MAK1ONE of the HC360 Crew, working with youth from Simon’s Town High School and Youth Nature Futures, in collaboration with SANCCOB.

Come watch it come to life. Learn why it matters. And let the art stop you in your tracks. 🌊

Live music and DJ sets by Monwabisi Dasi keep the energy going all day. 🎵

A penguin is popping up on Seaforth Beach — and you're invited to help paint it. 🐧🎨

As part of the Simon's Town Festival, a brand new mural is coming to life in front of Seaforth Restaurant on Saturday 16 May — and this one belongs to everyone.

Popping Up Penguin Live is part of the city-wide Popping Up Penguins project, where African Penguins are 'swimming' across walls from Boulders to the CBD with something urgent to say. This is the fourth penguin to appear — and it's being painted in real time, by real people, on the day.
Pick up a paint brush. Read the info cards. Choose what matters most to you about the survival of our African Penguins — and paint it into the mural. Over the course of the day, dozens of hands will build something powerful together.
Live music and DJ sets by local musician Monwabisi Dasi keep the energy going all day long. 🎵
