It is with immense sadness that we share the sudden passing of our beloved actor, Vaneshree Lingham. Vaneshree was part of the ERM family for more than 20 years. As a UCT graduate she shined on stage in numerous theatre productions. Last year, Vaneshree returned to the stage at the Vrystaatse Kunstefees.

Don't cut the scene! Sign the petition: urge the government to listen and support the film industry in South Africa. The mismanagement of the Film & TV Incentive Scheme has halted productions & losing 50% of international jobs to other countries. The SAVE SA FILM JOBS march and petition handover is on 28 January 2026 in Cape Town, demanding urgent reform and an end to the inaction.

'n Groot boom het geval. Rus in vrede akteur, skrywer en fotograaf Phiilp Henn. A giant of South African television, at 6'5 Phillip filled every room and set with his presence.

In 1991 Phillip melted hearts in the lead role as Johann Vorster in Egoli on . Later, he appeared in TV series such as Kelders van Geheime, Skemergrond & Suidooster & Binnelanders

Phillip grew l in Bloemfontein. From 1980 to 1981 he did his national service, spending the second year in Namibia, during the bush war. This experience had a far reaching impact on his life.

He then began working at Rapport as a press photographer (sports and news). In 1986 he began to specialise and worked as fashion and beauty photographer for many of the country's top women's magazines.

In 1987 he was appointed senior stage manager artistic at the Sand du Plessis theatre in Bloemfontein.

From 1988 to 1991 he studied architecture at the University of the Free State.

From 2000, Phillip lived on the Garden Route. He disliked the spotlight but loved open spaces, fishing, afternoon naps, braais, chats around a fire, watching rugby and eating sosaties.

He loved listening to the music of Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Verdi and Paul McCartney.

Phillip died at home in Oysterbay on 5 November, 2025. We will miss your visits to our office Phillip! Totsiens Grootman.
