Did you know? 🕵️♂️🏍️
Long before he played the ultimate criminal mastermind Walter White on Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston was actually a real-life prime suspect in a brutal murder investigation!
Back in the mid-1970s, a 20-something Cranston and his brother were travelling across the United States on motorcycles. When they ran out of money in Daytona Beach, Florida, they picked up jobs as waiters at a restaurant called the Hawaiian Inn.
Here is the wild story of how he ended up on a police APB list:
The Tyrannical Boss: The restaurant's head chef, Peter Wong, was notoriously miserable and hated by the entire staff. Cranston recalled that the servers would frequently sit around and joke about how they would "do away" with the chef, tossing around dark, comedic ideas like putting him in a meat grinder. 👨🍳💬
The Perfect Storm: Around the same time the Cranston brothers decided to pack up their bikes and leave town to continue their road trip, Chef Wong went missing. He was later found murdered, clubbed over the head and hidden in the trunk of a car. 🚗🩸
Prime Suspects: When the police questioned the restaurant staff, everyone immediately pointed fingers at the Cranston brothers. The staff told detectives, "They kept talking about killing him, and now they've skipped town!" 🚨🔍
The Unknowing Fugitives: The police put out an All-Points Bulletin (APB) alert for Bryan and his brother. Unaware that they were wanted fugitives, the brothers spent months peacefully cruising through the Carolinas.
The Real Killers: Luckily, before the police tracked down the actors, investigators pulled surveillance tapes and discovered that Wong had actually been lured into a "honey trap" robbery by an entirely different group of people.
By the time the brothers found out about the investigation, the real culprits had already been caught, turning a potentially career-ending misunderstanding into one of Cranston's wildest party stories! 🤯🦾
