Hence, NWDT takes place at a variety of venues, moving from and between to establish a new kind of theatre that is able to share its unique message with various venues and give host the performers and audience members who come from a spectacular array of cultural backgrounds and give them access to the human truths that we all share. Co-directors Celeste Botha and Marlin Zoutman, have extensive careers as contemporary dancers, teachers and choreographers working with Free Flight Dance Company, InSPIRAtions Youth Dance Company, Cape Dance Company, Tshwane Dance Company, Bovim Ballet, Remix Dance Company, Mzanzi Productions, Jazzart Dance Theatre, Ikapa Dance Theatre and La Rosa Spanish Dance Theatre. Dance has always been more than just a career choice to them but a passion that has driven them to seek perfection and always reaching for the cutting-edge, for the love of the arts. They deem it all-important to preserve and reinvigorate the principles that they acquired throughout their vast careers. The principles of discipline, excellence, beauty, life-long learning, and a commitment to their communities, family and movement is basis of our New World philosophy. NWDT seeks to create an explorative dance theatre that appeals to the hearts of humankind through a return to narrative and wonder. As an institution of learning we believe in the pursuit of movement, life-long learning and the understanding that the student will eventually surpass the teacher.
